Looking for a way to spice up your wedding guest book? You might think that there's no way to make this department any fancier, right? Like, what else is there to do other than write your name on the guest book? But there are ways to make this activity fun for the guests and fun for you and your husband/wife to read later on. You can always buy a traditional guest book from a bookstore but how fun would it be to read personalized notes and messages instead of just seeing a list of names and addresses, right? Below are some ideas that you can use as an inspiration. Wishing Tree The idea here is that you set up a small tree (usually DIY) somewhere in the venue, the guests will write their wishes for the couple on a piece of paper (tied with ribbons or thread), then they hang these on the tree. Such a lovely site once the tree is filled with hanging papers! You then keep the cards in a small box for safe keeping. These will be so much fun to read later on! I did this for my daughter's first birthday in lieu of a guest book and I have kept the wishes for my daughter to read when she turns 18 years old. The reason why I find this lovely is that not only does it serve as a wedding decor, the messages are more personalized compared to the traditional guest books where people simply write their names. Here's the tutorial for the wishing tree that I made for my daughter's birthday if you need it. Date Night Jar Another simple but fun alternative to guest book is the Date Night Jar. What you need to do is to set up a large wine bottle (or any bottle that you like) on a decorated table, leave small pieces of paper and pens plus the instructions for the guests. Here's a sample instruction: Help us come up with date night ideas! Write them on the paper, roll 'em up and drop them inside the bottle. We'd love to try them out real soon! Love, Mr & Mrs Smith Believe me, one of the things that my husband and I argue about is what to do or where to go for our date nights (which rarely happens by the way, because KIDS!). How fun would be to just simply pull out the date night jar, pick one and go! Snap shots and Wishes!
Love, love, love this idea! Great way to remember details from your wedding day! You will need a polaroid/instax camera and permanent markers. Just leave these on a decorated table where your guest and take selfies or groufies, print the photos out and write their messages on the white part of the photo. You can also leave an instruction so they will know what to do. Sample instruction: Thank you for making our day very special. Many years from now, we would want to look back and re-live this wonderful moment that you shared with us. So grab the camera, take a selfie/groufie, print them out and write your messages down below. Have a blast! Love, Mr and Mrs Smith After the wedding, place all of the photos in an album for safe-keeping. How fun would it be to go through the pictures and messages on your anniversary days! What do you think? You can use any of these ideas or you can also come up with your own! Just unleash your creative side! And always remember to have fun!
